Seeking Employment?

1st Year Employee Requirements:

  • Must be at least 15 years old.
  • To apply must be a current member or referred by a current member. (Preference given to current members)
  • Must be available to work all three holiday weekends.
  • Must be available to work the majority of scheduled shifts for the last two weeks of the season when established employees typically leave for college.

If prospective employee does not have job experience, please instead include  involvements (school activities, clubs, volunteer work, sports, and even relevant chore responsibilities).

To be considered for Lifeguarding, applicant must have completed their training course or be enrolled in one that concludes before Memorial Day Weekend.
Lifeguards also require a Waterfront certification that is offered at our facility the weekend before Memorial Day.
Certifications can be obtained through the red cross at most indoor swim facilities (Rowan, GCIT, YMCA, Riverwinds, Jersey Wahoos)

Interviews begin in May and the facility is staffed by the weekend before Memorial Day.

Lifeguard Recertification:

When: Saturday May 20, 2017
Time: Registration 8am, Class Start Time 9am
Cost: $120 for Lake Kandle Employees, $150 for NON Lake Kandle Employees

Guard must bring proof of expiring CPR/Lifeguard certification.

Waterfront Certification for Non Employees:

When: Sunday May 21, 2017
Time: Registration 8am, Class Start Time 9am
Cost: $150 (cash, check, or credit) payment collected at registration.
Availability: All guards that register will have the opportunity to complete the training. There is no class size limit, just make sure that the guards come on time to register. Registration must be done in person on Sunday May 21, before class starts.
We have slotted this day for non employees of Lake Kandle to reduce the class size. Even with last year’s class size, the certifications were completed by noon.
What the guards must bring:
Proof that they have a current lifeguard certification or are in the process of passing the course. (waterfront is an add-on and is only valid if the lifeguard has passed their general certification).
